With a strong background in real estate, our team has over 40 years of experience in the industry, with 30 of those years dedicated specifically to appraisal services.

A Professional of Integrity and Fairness
Meet Our Founder
Christopher Shaw, a Raleigh native who attended both UNCW and NC State University. He married his high school sweetheart in 1989 and together they established Shaw Appraisal Service in 1995, serving lenders, savings and loans, builders, and homeowners.
With over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry, Chris has appraised over 3,000 area homes, including high-end custom homes and large acreage farms. He covers 17 towns over a 5-county area in NC, including Raleigh, Wake Forest, Chapel Hill, Durham, and more. He is also an advocate for the process and theories in appraising real estate, and he strives to set a standard of expectation with all of his buyers and sellers.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, including his two beautiful daughters and his grandchildren, who keep him on his toes. He also has a passion for animals and believes in being their voice. In his free time, he enjoys working in his yard and spending time at his family home in Carolina Beach or visiting the North Carolina mountains.
